This course is about providing make-up services for a variety of occasions, including Day, Evening and Special Occasions. You will need to show you can work with a variety of skin conditions.The unit covers the application of a wide range of make-up products to different skin tones and age groups.To carry out this unit you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work. You will also need to maintain your personal appearance and good communication with the client.
This course is ideal for:
Those wishing to work freelance including bridal make-overs
Those wishing to work in a retail environment, selling make-up, advising on skincare and make-up
Those wishing to start a career in professional make-up
Those wishing to progress on to more advanced make-up course and need a foundation to start from, you can then add units (fashion photographic etc) to build towards your full VRQ make up artist diploma.
No previous experience is necessary for this course as we will teach everything from the basics onwards

To obtain your qualification VTCT provides a assessment book which is completed along the way, as assessors we will observe your performance of practical tasks, there is a minimum number of observations required to pass. there is also a external paper which will test your knowledge of the criteria, a pass of 70% must be achieved. you will have four practical days and two for practice and assessments.
