The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty therapy is a job ready qualification based on national occupational standards.
This qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as a beauty therapist. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, promote additional services or products to clients, develop and maintain your effectiveness at work, provide facial skincare treatment, enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes, carry out waxing services, provide pedicure and manicure services and provide make up services.
This qualification is approved and supported by the hairdressing and beauty industry authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
This is an approved qualification for working as a beauty therapist in a salon. It also provides a sound platform for further learning or training.
As part of the qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence.A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learned. It may be in electronic or paper format.
Practical course units you will study:
Provide facial skincare treatments
Enhance the appearance of eyelashes and eyebrows
Carry out waxing services
Provide Manicure and pedicure services
Provide make up services
Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms:
Evidence of prior learning or attainment
Home study units:
Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
Promote additional services or products to customers
Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
