This course is about designing and applying fashion and photographic make-up and includes incorporating advanced make up, current fashion trends, historical/period and special occasion make-up. You will also learn about make-up for both colour and black and white photography.To carry out this unit you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work. You will also need to maintain your personal appearance and good communication with the client. You can work on adding units after completion to build towards your full VTCT make up artist diploma.

To obtain your qualification VTCT provides a assessment book which is completed along the way, as assessors we will observe your performance of practical tasks, there is a minimum number of observations required to pass. there is also a external paper which will test your knowledge of the criteria, a pass of 70% must be achieved.There will be 4 practical lessons and 2 lessons for assessments (depending on learner).
Home study is also required.
